The Surface Go 3 is small and light enough to be held in one hand, and it can be paired with an optional digital stylus and keyboard cover. The Core i3-10100Y instead uses just 5 watts in standard operation, and can be configured by the tablet manufacturer to run on as little as 3.5 watts if you’re not performing particularly demanding workflows. Both are designed to use even less power than the most efficient laptop CPUs, which typically are rated to use at least 15 watts. The Y-series Core i3 that makes up the Surface Go 3’s upper-level configuration serves the same purpose as the Core m3 in the previous tablet. The Microsoft Surface Go 3, which has a new Core i3 CPU option, can be used with or without a keyboard. Meanwhile, the Surface Go 2 features two older CPU options: a Pentium Gold 4425Y processor, or an 8th Generation Core m3 in the up-ticked configuration. Both tablets look the same, and they share the same $400 starting price. Not a whole lot has changed in this newest revision, which is a good thing, since the Surface Go 2 is already a solid work-from-home (and idle-time) choice among Windows tablets. Microsoft’s entry-level Surface Go tablet improved by leaps and bounds from the first generation to the second one, and now it’s back for a third "go at the Go," in the form of the Surface Go 3.
